BMW Reveals Concept 90 Motorbike

Retro cafe racer celebrates 90 years of BMW motorbikes and pays tribute to a classic at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

Along with Honda and Suzuki, BMW is one of thew few automakers that also makes motorcycles. In fact, the BMW Motorrad division is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, as well as the 40th birthday of its iconic R90 S. So to celebrate, BMW rolled in to Villa d’Este not only with the Pininfarina-designed Gran Lusso Coupe, but also this motorcycle concept, too. Called the Concept Ninety, it cuts a dashing café racer-style form co-developed with Californian custom bike company Roland Sands Design.

Following the classic’s lead, the Concept Ninety is distinguished by its front fairing with integrated LED headlamp (in place of the original’s halogen unit) with milled components adorning the air-cooled flat-twin engine. Even the orange bodywork pays homage to the Daytona Orange color introduced on the R90 S.
