Watch 991 Porsche 911 GT2 at the Ring

The fastest 911 ever built has been caught on video sprinting around the Nurburgring.

Yesterday we brought you the first spy shots of the 991-gen Porsche 911 GT2 at the Nurburgring. And thanks to fastsportscardriver we now have the first video of the same prototype lapping the Ring. While the still shots of the car with practically zero camo were awesome, seeing the car in action and hearing the 560-horsepower 3.8-liter turbo-six roar is absolutely epic. With a top speed of over 200 mph and a 0-62 mph time that starts with a two, this is the fastest 911 ever built.

Although it looks ready for Frankfurt, the 991 Porsche 911 GT2 is expected to debut at next year’s Geneva Motor Show. In the meantime, check out the video and get ready to smile.

Selena Gomez has Gas Problems

We guess she picked the wrong day to leave her driver and personal assistant at home.

A-list celebrities have people to do everything for them. Buy their groceries, manage their schedule and no doubt drive them to and fro. We have to admit though, we are a little shocked to see this hilarious video, courtesy of TMZ, in which Selena Gomez apparently does not know how to operate a gas pump, or for that matter, how to corner her new BMW X5 or even to close the door without getting her dress left hanging outside of it.

TMZ titles this video as “Selena Gomez has White Girl Problems”. We would like to propose a new title. “Selena Gomez Has Problems”. At least she is clever enough to enlist the help of the paparazzi.

Jaguar Teases C-X75 in Video

Seeing this phenomenal supercar in action makes it even harder to accept it will never make production.

The most technically advanced road car ever conceived, the C-X75 was built to celebrate three-quarters of a century of Jaguar but for various reasons the phenomenal supercar will never make it to production. With the performance of a Veyron, electric range of a Volt, CO2 emissions of a Prius, and the drop-dead good looks that Leaping Cats are renowned for, the C-X75 could go down in history as the best car never built. As sad as that is, the technology conceived will not go to waste.

Check out the video of a behind-the-scenes look at the state-of-the-art hybrid supercar and look forward to seeing some of the cutting-edge technologies feature in future Jaguar and Land Rover models.

Porsche 959 Speedster Selling for $1.3M

An original Porsche 959 that was once in an accident is now a one-off 959 Speedster.

The Porsche 959 is without question one of the German automaker’s all-time greats. It is a butt-engined, twin-turbocharged all-wheel-drive high-performance car that was so good at being awesome that Porsche became convinced that AWD would be a smart thing to offer. Oh yeah, the 959 also competed with the Ferrari F40 back in the day. But just 337 units were built and each one today is worth a boatload. Every single one of them was built as a hard top. What you’re looking at now is the exception.

We’ll explain: the owner of this white 959 somehow rolled it in an accident. As repair work was about to begin, he opted instead to remove the rest of the presumably partially crushed roof and turn the car into a speedster. Other modifications include a Porsche 911 Speedster windshield, but it’s been swapped out in favor of the original glass unit. This 959 reportedly has just over 5,000 miles on its odometer and is up for sale at a dealer in the Netherlands. The cost? About $1.3 million. According to sources, this is not a 959 replica. It’s a 1987 model and it’s as real as they come – with the exception of its missing roof, of course.

To the Pagani Zonda, With Love

One man had a boyhood dream to build supercars. The Pagani Zonda is the result of this passion.

It was the dream of Horacio Pagani for years, beginning all the way back to when he was a child. After learning the ropes for several years at Lamborghini, this supercar obsessed Argentinian with a passion for lightweight carbon fiber technology set off in 1992 to start his own company. And by 1999, his first masterpiece debuted. The Zonda, with its AMG-build V12 engine, heavy dosage of carbon fiber, and immaculate attention to detail, was to change the face of the supercar world forever. We will never get enough of it.

This is The New 2014 BMW X4 Crossover in its Production Form

2014 BMW X4

The funny thing about the BMW X4 is that, even though we knew about it for a long time, our spies hadn’t captured a prototype model on the road. Of course, as most of you likely remember, BMW eventually came out with a concept version to preview the sporty crossover at the Shanghai Auto Show in China just this past April.

Well, now we can add the X4 to our long list of upcoming cars that have been spied as pre-production test models. BMW engineers may have slathered a few layers of wraps with swirly shapes, but since there are no fake panels, they don’t do much to hide the appearance of the actual X4 that will go on sale in the first half of next year.

2014 BMW X4 15 To get an idea of what it will look like without the camouflage, the relation of the X4 Concept to the X4 production model is exactly the same as that of the 4-Series Concept to the 2014 MY 4-Series Coupe presented about a fortnight ago.

By comparing the spy shots to the pictures of the X4 Concept, we can see that the production model is somewhere around 95 to 99 percent identical to the study. What that remaining percentage translates to are a series of small changes including the less futuristic and round shaped headlamp fixtures, the absence of chrome trims and funky looking decor on the bumpers, bigger and more practical in everyday use mirrors and door handles, the much smaller wheels (at least on this model), and well, that’s just about it.

That said, the X4 should be very close in exterior dimensions to the concept that measured 4,648mm (183-inches) long, 1,915mm (75.4 inches) wide and 1,622mm (63.9 inches) tall. Being based on the current X3, it shares the same wheelbase length of 2,810mm (110.6-inches) with the former.

Designed as a smaller and more affordable sibling to the successful X6, the X4 will borrow its engine lineup from the X3, meaning the North American model will offer an initial choice of two powerplants, including the 240-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four for the X4 28i, and the 300-horsepower 3.0-liter turbo’d straight-six for the X4 35i. Europe and other parts of the world will get a wider engine range with less powerful gasoline options and an array of diesels. A plug-in hybrid version is under consideration.

Production of the new X4 will take place at BMW’s South Carolina facility.
